Hey peeps,
How have you been in the past two weeks? As for me, I've been in the process of relocating two children, one wife, and a lot of accumulated possessions. This is not an excuse; it's an epic adventure novel, some Tolkien-level stuff. Here's a brief summary of the last two weeks:
It all started when I took my car to the dealership for a routine check-up. I expected to get my car back at three thirty, but by three thirty, I was expecting it back at five. Just before five (when I told the dealership, for the second time, that I needed to pick up my children), my car was expected 'next week.' After two days with no car (and over £150 on Uber rides), I was informed that my car would be back when they get the parts from Germany. Almost three weeks later, still no car, just a tiny booted courtesy car accumulating parking tickets.
In chapter two of my novel, I drove a moving van for the first time — how do people still drive manuals? My feet are still hurting. Chapter three involved my parents visiting from Ghana (all Africans know the responsibilities that come with that). Chapter four included my 8 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. I will give this update the level of reverence it deserves in a longer, more thought-out post, but I love you, Babi. My youngest started nursery. I'm going to miss changing his nappies in random coffee shops, but I'm so proud of him. He's already managed two incident reports (the joys of parenting). In-between chapter four and five, I was a victim of fraud. Playstation fraud (I don't play the Playstation; my son is allowed to play it on Sundays), but still, fraud nonetheless. Now I am out of pocket and locked in a war with Sony over £89.98 (for God of War and GTA, two games I don't even have the time to play).
Among the many highlights, Chapter five brought something very cool. One of my friends got a lead role in one of the biggest franchises in the world, the new Netflix One Piece live adaptation. He wanted to see me in London, and instead of us just chilling, I organized for him to come to my son's karate dojo to train with the kids. It's like a dream come true to bring a global star to the depths of South London. Don't worry; I filmed it all for my podcast and will share.
As for the creative stuff in chapter six. My video ‘Broke vs Broke-N’ just hit ONE MILLION VIEWS on Instagram.
The last post I wrote on 'Forgotten Love Languages' went crazy viral, and I have spent the last two weeks expanding on the subject of 'Forgotten Love Languages.' on my other newsletter
I'm sorry for providing a complete 'The Curious Case of Solomon Breaks' breakdown, but that is the summary of the last two weeks. I could go into more detail, but I suppose that's for another post.
A week in spoken word shorts:
In today’s post, I prove to my audience that sometimes important people want my opinion too! I featured on The How Far Podcast hosted by Mr Eazi & Temi Otedola and we discussed everything from wedding plans, communication and words my wife banned me from using in our relationship. Listen in when you get the chance.
